Termination of Top Selma School Officials Recommended

State school officials have recommended firing several top administrators for Selma City Schools– including the superintendent.

Larry Dichiara, of the state intervention team has recommended to state superintendent Tommy Bice that Superintendent Jerald Shirley, former Selma High School principal Wanda McCall, and testing coordinator Mamie Solomon be let go from their positions.
All three have been on paid administrative leave as a result of the state take over investigation.
Bice has not responded to the recommendation at this time.
