Tigers lose 2016 home finale to Texas A & M 81-63

AUBURN, Ala. (auburntigers.com) -– Graduate Tyler Harris had a big night in his final game in Auburn Arena with 20 points, eight rebounds and three blocks as Auburn fell to No. 20/18 Texas A&M 81-63 Tuesday on Senior Night.

T.J. Lang added 10 points while Jordon Granger had eight points and T.J. Dunans eight points, a career-high seven assists and three steals.

Auburn used an 18-3 run over 7:03 to take the lead at 30-19 with 5:28 to go. Texas A&M closed the half on a 14-3 run to tie it at 33.

The Aggies scored the first 12 points of the second half, bridging together a 27-3 run, to take a 45-33 lead with 16:46 left. A Dunans layup and conventional 3-point play from Harris closed it to 45-38.

That was as close as the Tigers would get as the Aggies led by as much 75-53 with 4:33 left.

Texas A&M outrebounded Auburn 51-27, including a 21-7 edge on the offensive boards. Both teams shot 40 percent from the floor while the Aggies were 24-of-26 from the foul line to Auburn’s 12-of-18.

Auburn, which shot 6-of-15 from 3 in the first half, finished 7-of-27.

Auburn fell to 11-18, 5-12 in SEC play while Texas A&M improved to 23-7, 12-5.

Danuel House led the Aggies with 19 points while Jalen Jones added 16 points and eight rebounds and Tyler Davis 14 points and nine boards.

Auburn concludes the regular season Saturday at Mississippi State at 1:30 pm CT on the SEC Network.
