Auburn women’s tennis opens SEC play against No. 14 Texas A&M and No. 9 LSU
AUBURN, Ala. (auburntigers.com)– The Auburn women’s tennis team, ranked No. 29 in the latest ITA Coaches Poll, will open up SEC play at home this weekend against No. 14 Texas A&M and No. 9 LSU.
Auburn (12-2) is coming off of a strong performance at the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic, which included an upset of No. 12 Oklahoma State.
Already the all-time leader in doubles victories with 94, senior Pleun Burgmans is now 14 wins shy of becoming the all-time leader in combined victories with 172. Burgmans is 11-0 in the dual-match season, playing mostly out of the No. 1 spot.
Sophomore Andie Dikosavljevic continues to do well against ranked opponents. Last week she beat No. 33 Katarina Adamovic from Oklahoma State in the first round of the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic. She is schedule to face No. 53 Saska Gavrilovska from Texas A&M and No. 20 Vale Costa from LSU this weekend.
Auburn plays host to Texas A&M on Thursday at 2 p.m. and LSU on Saturday at 1 p.m. Both matches will be played at Yarbrough Tennis Center and admission is free. The first 50 fans for both matches will receive a free War Eagle t-shirt.
