Research Questions Helmet Therapy

Helmet therapy is a popular treatment option for babies with flat heads, but a new study finds the gear is not really effective.

Researchers in the Netherlands found by age two,  the skulls of babies who wore the helmets weren’t significantly better than the skulls of babies who did not receive treatment for the condition.

One in five infants develops a flat head as a result of sleeping on their backs.
