Altercation with Student Leads to Teacher’s Arrest
Police say an Alabama high school teacher has been arrested after an altercation with a student.
Hoover police Capt. Gregg Rector tells local news media Friday that 46-year-old physical education teacher Lori Michelle McCombs has been charged with harassment of a 14-year-old female student. Rector says McCombs was arrested Thursday night after a month-long investigation of the altercation, which occurred inside a girls’ locker room at Hoover High School.
Rector says McCombs was upset that the student for not dressing fast enough for class. Police say McCombs allegedly grabbed the student by the wrist and pulled her from the locker room into the hallway, leaving red marks on the student’s arm.
McCombs was released on a $500 bond from the Hoover City Jail. She’s scheduled to appear in court May 11.
