Two people are dead after a shooting at a nightclub in Selma over the weekend. District Attorney Michael Jackson says it was a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

According to authorities, it happened at the corner of Marie Foster Street and Selma Avenue Saturday evening.
Someone opened fire on a car outside of a nightclub.
District Attorney Michael Jackson says he believes it was retaliation.
But it wasn’t the right person.
“I don’t even think they realized what was going on. The guy’s was trying to shoot T.J. Shelton’s brother. They thought he was in the car and they unloaded on the car. So basically you had two guys in the wrong place at the wrong time when this happened,” said Jackson.
Whatever the reason for it, Jackson says violence will not be tolerated in Dallas County.
“These were the first murders of the year. But any number of murders is too many. We’re going to keep trying to clamp down on these gunslingers out here shooting. This is not the Wild Wild West. You can not just go and start unloading on people, guns and stuff. You do that, you’re going off,” said Jackson.
