Gov. Bentley Awards Lowndes Co. Grant for Law Enforcement Equipment
Gov. Robert Bentley has awarded a $9,999 grant to help the Lowndes County Commission obtain needed law enforcement equipment.
The Sheriff’s Office will purchase one tactical rifle and digital radios for patrol and investigative units, completing a two-year transition from analog to digital communications.
The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs is administering the grant from funds made available by the U.S. Department of Justice. ADECA manages a wide range of programs that support law enforcement, economic development, infrastructure upgrades, recreation, energy conservation, water resources, job training and career development.
Bentley notified Robert Harris, Lowndes County Commission chairman, that the grant had been approved.
