Broadband Commission Moves Forward In Expanding High Speed Internet

Another step for Alabama’s Black Belt…The South Central Alabama Broadband Commission moves forward in expanding high speed internet.

The commission launched a national awareness campaign called “Get Wired Alabama.” It educates the country on the lack of affordable broadband internet throughout the Black Belt Region.

A spokesperson says 17 rural alabama counties need immediate assistance.

“This resource, this technology, will give those in impoverished counties an opportunity to function on a level they had not been able to function before. “

The commission hopes to achieve their goal by January 2015.
