Lady Hornet linksters look for tune-up in Bluegrass this weekend

MURRAY, Ky. (bamastatesports.com) – The Alabama State women’s golf team will have its final tune-up prior to the SWAC Championship by competing this weekend in the 54-hole Jan Weaver Invitational, hosted by Murray State.

The three-time defending SWAC Champion Lady Hornets are one of 13 teams scheduled to compete at the Francis E. Miller Golf Course (par 72, 6017 yards). The teams will play 36 holes Friday, and complete play with 18 holesSaturday.

Along with the Lady Hornets and host Racers, other schools in the field are Akron, Austin Peay, Belmont Bruins, Fairleigh Dickinson Morehead State, Lindenwood-Belleville Omaha, Southern Illinois, Tennessee State, Tennessee Tech and Xavier.

Alabama State last competed in the Texas Southern Invitational February 29-March 1, winning the event at Southwyck Golf Course in Houston.
