Tiger netters host two matches in final SEC weekend
AUBURN, Ala. (auburntigers.com) – No. 63 Auburn closes the men’s tennis regular season this weekend with a pair of home conference matches at the Yarbrough Tennis Center.
Friday, Auburn hosts Tennessee at 5 p.m. Sunday, the Tigers host No. 20 Kentucky on Senior Day at 1 p.m. as coaches and teammates thank seniors Marko Krickovic and Joseph Van Dooren for their contributions to the Tiger tennis program.
The tentative lineup for Auburn in singles: 1) Marko Krickovic; 2) Max Hinnisdaels; 3) Conner Huertas del Pino; 4) Dante Saleh; 5) Brandon Laubser; 6) Olle Thestrup.
In doubles, the tentative lineup is: 1) Marko Krickovic/Edward Nguyen; 2) Max Hinnisdaels/Brandon Laubser; 3) Conner Huertas del Pino/Dante Saleh.
On Saturday, the Tigers will host a free kids’ instructional clinic at 10 a.m. at the Yarbrough Tennis Center. Kids in eighth grade or younger can work with the Tigers to get an introduction to tennis or to improve their game. Walk-ups are welcome, or to pre-register, email markets@auburn.edu.
Auburn is now 11-12 and ranked No. 63 nationally as a team. Tennessee is 11-14 overall and 0-10 in the SEC. No. 20 Kentucky is 17-7 overall and 6-4 in the SEC; the Wildcats play at Florida on Friday before coming to Auburn. These are the final regular season matches before SEC tournament play begins Wednesday, April 20, at South Carolina.
All home matches are played at the Yarbrough Tennis Center (771 Yarbrough Farms Blvd., Auburn) and admission is free.
