Capital of Dreams Triathalon Draws Hundreds

Athletes from across the southeast are chasing their championship hopes in the second annual Capital of Dreams triathalon.

More than 300 people kicked off the event Saturday, jumping into the Alabama River and swimming 1500 meters. After that, they biked 40 kilometers, topping it all of with a 10 kilometer run.

Athletes from all ages and abilities came out to for the growing event. The fastest intermediate racer finished in just under 2 hours. The fastest sprint triathlon racer came in at under 57 minutes.
