NEW ORLEANS, La (troytrojans.com) – The Troy men’s tennis team saw its season come to an end in a 4-1 quarterfinal loss to Appalachian State on Friday in the Sun Belt Championships at the City Park/Pepsi Tennis Center.
Troy (15-14), the tournament’s No. 3 seed, won the doubles point and three of six singles first sets, looking to be well on its way to the first step of defending its Sun Belt championship. The No. 6 seed Appalachian State (14-6), however, won the second set in all three of those matches to turn the tide.

The Mountaineers then clinched the match with a 1-6, 6-3, 7-6 (5) win at No. 6 singles. App State moves on to face No. 2 South Alabama in the tournament’s semifinals on Saturday.
