Warm And Humid With Daytime Showers And Storms
It was a mostly cloudy, very warm, and humid Saturday across central and south Alabama. Despite the clouds, daytime high temperatures rose into the mid and upper 80s. Showers and even storms were here and there throughout the day. Southwest Alabama saw persistent light showers, while areas near and north of I-85 saw isolated but heavier downpours. Many of the showers and storms taper off this evening, but isolated to scattered showers remain possible overnight. This evening remains warm, humid, and mostly cloudy otherwise, with temperatures falling from the low 80s at 7PM into the mid 70s by 11PM. Overnight lows only fall into the upper 60s to low 70s under a mostly cloudy sky.
Sunday could feature a higher coverage of showers and storms compared to Saturday. Outside of the chance for rain, expect another mostly cloudy and very warm day with highs in the mid to upper 80s. Again, most of these showers and storms form during the afternoon or early evening, but there may be some rain early in the day and also persisting through Sunday night. Sunday night lows only fall into the upper 60s to low 70s.
Monday features another good chance for afternoon showers and storms. While not every location sees rain, those that do could experience heavy although relatively brief downpours. Despite a mostly cloudy sky outside of the rain, daytime highs reach the mid to upper 80s. The rain chance looks a touch lower Tuesday and Wednesday, but still decent with a scattered coverage of afternoon showers and storms. Expect daytime highs in the upper 80s each day.
The rain chance trends lower late next week while afternoon highs trend up. However, isolated afternoon showers or storms remain possible next Thursday and Friday. Expect afternoon highs in the low 90s each day.
Chances for daytime showers and storms continue into next weekend, with Sunday possibly featuring a slightly better chance for rain than Saturday. Temperatures remain hot, with highs in the low to possibly mid 90s for some locations.
