Montgomery Alabama Has Won the Title of an All America City

Montgomery Alabama has won the title of an All America City at the National Civic League’s All-America City Awards in Denver, Colorado.

Twenty-three finalist cities competed for the title given to at least ten each year. The award recognizes communities for successfully addressing pressing challenges such as housing, government innovation, job development, educational improvement and neighborhood and commercial revitalization. This year applicants were asked to list one or more projects aimed at addressing conditions that affect the health of communities. Montgomery boasted three programs that successfully tackled this issue.

Governor Robert Bentley was very proud of the award.
He said…
“This distinction is another jewel in the crown for Montgomery, and it’s indicative of the energy and enthusiasm surrounding our city. We earned this distinction thanks to the dedication of our citizens and amazing health and wellness initiatives that provide much needed services to our neighbors”
