UAB’s Clark hoping to take team to Bryant’s funeral
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) – UAB coach Bill Clark is hoping to take the team with him to the funeral of running back Greg Bryant.
Clark said Tuesday he’s checking with compliance officials to see if UAB can provide transportation for the players to the funeral in Florida, according to al.com .
Bryant died Sunday after he was shot on Interstate 95 in South Florida early Saturday. Police are investigating the shooting.
Clark says coaches held a team meeting with players on campus and have reached out to others who are not in Birmingham. Bryant started his career at Notre Dame but left after he was declared academically ineligible for the 2015 season.
Clark says Bryant had a 3.0 grade point average this spring and was trying to take advantage of his second chance.
