Fathers in Troy Participate in Fishing Rodeo

Dozens of dads in Troy had the opportunity to spend quality time with their kids as part of a fishing rodeo.

The rodeo was hosted by Melissa Issak of Issak Law Firm in Troy. Issak says it’s important for all fathers to spend quality time with their kids. The event is free but fathers and their kids have the chance to win several prizes by the end of the day. The grand prize for the biggest fish caught was an Xbox. The team that caught the most fish won a cash prize of $100 and for the smallest fish, the prize was a bicycle.

“This is a good time for dads to come out with their kids and they don’t have to worry about paying for anything. They can spend time with them. They can leave with some really good prizes,” says Issak.

“It’s important for fathers to spend quality time with their kids so that they know that they’re loved and there’s things that fathers can bring to the table to help their children,” says Jason Starr.

This was the first year for this fishing rodeo.
