Huntingdon’s Kucera earns All-Region honors

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (huntingdonhawks.com) – Huntingdon senior Patrick Kucera was recognized with the release of the D3baseball.com All-Region teams on Tuesday.

Kucera was named third-team All-South Region as an outfielder. He was one of nine USA South Athletic Conference players named to the All-South Region team.

Kucera is the seventh Hawk to earn All-Region honors from D3baseball.com since the organization began naming All-Region teams in 2012.

As a senior, Kucera helped Huntingdon put together a 27-19 record and win its first USA South Athletic Conference championship. The Hawks advanced to the NCAA Division III South Regional for the second time in program history.

A native of Robertsdale, Ala., Kucera started in all 46 games this season and led Huntingdon in eight statistical categories. He led the Hawks with a .347 batting average, a .487 on-base percentage, 61 hits, 55 runs, nine doubles, 38 walks and 26 stolen bases and tied for the team lead with three triples. The team’s leadoff batter, he was fourth on the team with 24 RBIs.

Kucera ranked ninth in Division III in walks, 18th in runs scored and 25th in stolen bases.
