Selma PD Arrest Teen in Connection to Shooting Investigation
On Wednesday, May 25, officers were dispatched to the 2000 Block of Woodrow East in reference to a shooting.
En route to the call, patrol officers spotted the suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The driver jumped out and fled from police.
A sheriff’s deputy spotted the subject and officers were able to take the subject into custody. The suspect was identified as 18-year old Juwan Howard from Jones, Ala..
Through the investigation, it was learned that Howard had fired an assault style rifle several times into a vehicle that was in the 2000 Block of Woodrow East, that was occupied at least three people, one of which was a female juvenile.
Howard was charged with:
1-count of Shooting into an Occupied Vehicle- NO BOND.
1- count of Attempted Murder- NO BOND.
No one was injured and the investigation is still ongoing.
