Filming of the Movie ‘Selma’ is now at the Capitol

Hollywood is in Montgomery…
Â
The Filming of the movie selma is now at the Capitol. Big names like Oprah and Brad Pitt are expected to be in the city.
Â
We saw crews unloading equipment and props for the filming. The movie is about the fight for civil rights that played out right here in Alabama. We’ve also seen a few people hoping to be cast as extras. They’re still looking for more. They’re looking for people of all ages and races, dressed in conservative, period clothing. That’s for a big scene that will be shot tonight at 5:30 when Dr. MLK spoke to a massive crowd at the state Capitol. But whether they’re in the movie or not, people here say this is an exciting day for the city.
Â
“I’m just trying to check out the set and watch the filming of the movie. I heard they were in town. The film crew was in the elevator last night at our hotel, so just wanted to come and check out the set.” Says Mindy Locke who is visiting Montgomery.
Â
“I wanna see Oprah and I just wanna see the film itself being done. I’ve never experienced anything like this, so it’s so exciting.” says Tabitha Locke.
Â
We’ll definitely be watching out for some big stars, but if you see any of them, be sure to share them with us. Head over to our Alabama News Network Facebook page and share your photos.Â

Don’t forget that the filming will be causing some delays downtown.
