Love Triangle Ends in Deadly Shooting in Perry County

One Perry County man is dead and another is behind bars after a shooting near the town of Marion.

Sheriff Billy Jones says 40 year old Tony Hogan is charged with capital murder in the shooting death of 24 year old Wardell Turner.

Jones says Hogan shot and killed Turner in a dispute over Turner’s wife.

The shooting happened at a house on Highway 14 just west of Marion at around 5:30 Monday afternoon.

“The deceased, he was pronounced dead on the scene. We did take the suspect into custody around 11:15 on the same night,” said Sheriff Billy Jones.

Jones says Hogan is charged with capital murder.

He’s being held without bond.
