Drivers See Impact of Lower Gas Prices
Gas prices have dropped even lower and local drivers say they are taking advantage of it.
Filling up these days is a little easier as drivers we talked to say they are glad to see prices stay around the 2 dollar mark.
“It’s been a little easier for me. I don’t travel back and forth to the beach, I travel quite often to go visit my dad because I’m from Etowah County. It’s really helped me a lot. Used to be about 35-40 bucks for a tank of gas and now I can make it on 25 or 30, so it’s really been better for me,” said Deborah Mosley.
For people like Michael Lynch, the price at the pump is a welcome relief.
“Gas prices are better now than they have been because I used to drive a long haul for many years in a big rig. Prices 4 or 5 dollars is terrible. Now even some people say, ‘it was $1.90-something’– Hey, 2 dollars, so what?” said Lynch.
And for those hitting the road for beach, these prices have definitely helped to lighten the load.
“Awesome, this is probably our third or fourth trip to the beach. And it’s very affordable. We filled the gas tank in about 30 dollars and then came back on the same tank of gas,” said Mylinh Thrift.
