RIF Summer Reading Series Underway in Selma

A reading program underway in Selma is putting books in the hands of children to encourage them to read this summer and teach them that Reading is Fundamental.
A series of ‘Reading is Fundamental or RIF’ summer reading events have been planned at various locations around town this summer.
Organizers read stories to the children that attend — and even give them books of their very own to take home.
“It’s a beautiful program and the children enjoy it and it gives them something to do over the summer months. Its a very beautiful program and enriching for the children,” said Selma resident Naomi Chappell.
Organizers say they hope to serve about a thousand kids this summer.
