Gov. Bentley Making First Public Appearances Since Divorce Filing

Gov. Robert Bentley is making his first public appearances since his wife filed for divorce last week.
Bentley will give a speech at noon Wednesday in Birmingham to an economic development group. On Wednesday afternoon, he will participate in a groundbreaking ceremony for a pharmaceutical company in Birmingham.
Dianne Bentley filed for divorce Friday, saying their 50-year marriage had suffered an irretrievable breakdown.
The governor has not commented publicly on the pending divorce. His communications director issued a statement requesting privacy. Bentley on Monday urged his cabinet to stay focused on an upcoming special session despite distractions.
A judge on Monday sealed the divorce file from public view.
