WAKA Honored at Alabama Associated Press Awards
The AP Awards Luncheon took place in Birmingham this year, and several members from our station were honored.
WAKA won the following awards:
- Best Weather Anchor: Marcy Novak
- Best Videographer: Jame Johnston
- Broadcast Cooperation Award: WAKA-TV
WAKA also recieved honorable mentions in these categories:
- Best Investigation: Tim Lennox “Where Is the Secretary of State”
- Best Series: Catalina Trivino, Kenyon Corbitt: “Sex Abuse Arrests”
- Best Reporter: Catalina Trivino
- Best Sports Anchor: Kirk Nawrotzky
- Best Specialized Reporter: Jeff Sanders “Taste of the South”
- Best Sports Feature: Brian Penter “Dual Threat”
