Brundidge Residents Speak Out on Flooding Issues

Some Brundidge residents are concerned with ongoing flooding in their backyards.

They are asking the city for help because of flooding from Mims Creek during excessive rain. People living in the area say sand and trash in their yards, is also a result of flooding. City Manager Britt Thomas says the city has to have a permit before making changes. But residents say are running out of patience with the issue.

“We need some help to take care of this because it is not our problem,” says Maxine Dubose of Brundidge.

“Before you do any type of altering to the creek itself you have to have a permit through the army corp of engineers,” says Brundidge City Manager Britt Thomas.

The city is awaiting response from Poly Engineering before making a decision of what to do next about the problem.
