Residents Enjoy Lake Martin for 4th of July Holiday
Many people are enjoying Lake Martin for the holiday weekend.
Boaters say it’s a tradition to visit the lake every year. People working at the lake say they expect to see more people arrive for the 4th of July just in time for the lake’s fireworks show Monday evening. They also say safety is still a top priority when operating boats at the lake because boating under the influence is just as dangerous as driving under the influence.
“We recommend that you have a designated driver, similar that you would on the land. Have one person that can possibly watch out for the safety of others,” says Scott Goslin of Kowaliga Marina.
The fireworks show at Lake Martin begins at 6:30 pm on July 4th at the lake’s amphitheater. Gates open at 5pm.
