Postpartum Depression Linked to Childbirth Pain

A new study links severe pain during childbirth to postpartum depression.

Researchers in China found 35% of women who did not receive an epidural during labor developed depression six weeks after giving birth.

That number dropped to just 14% among women who were given the pain relief.

Women who received an epidural were also more likely to breastfeed their babies.
