Authorities search for missing woman
A Wetumpka woman has been missing for nearly a month. Law enforcement and friends of the missing woman are working to find new leads in the case.
Starr Mulder was reported missing June 20th and was last seen on June 11th. The Elmore County Sheriff’s Office says Mulder told her ex-husband she wanted to get medical treatment from a hospital at UAB. The hospital has no record of her being admitted.
Karen Franks has known Starr since high school and says her health declined in the past few years.
“I’m just worried about her well-being,” she shared, “Where are you Starr? I mean, you were sick. We want you to come back.”
Chief Deputy Ricky Lowery with the Elmore County Sheriff’s Office says they are working hard to try and find Mulder.
“The longer that somebody is not heard from, of course for the family they just wonder if she’s out there and if she’s okay, they just want to hear from her,” he explained, “and on our side, we’ve got our whole division that has been working on this.”
Lowery said that investigators were looking into a new lead on Thursday but did not say what that lead was.
