Changes Made to Second Saturday Celebration

The City of Montgomery will postpone the fireworks display planned for July 9 in conjunction with Second Saturday, instead opting to move the display to the final Saturday Spectacular on August 6. Other events, including Rock the Park battle of the bands, will continue as planned for tomorrow’s Second Saturday.

“Today, tomorrow and throughout the coming week, we will grieve with the families affected by our nation’s recent tragedies,” Montgomery Mayor Todd Strange said. “In doing so, we feel compelled to postpone the celebratory fireworks to a later and more appropriate time and date. Our thoughts and prayers remain with those who are hurting.”
