Authorities Search for Alabama Inmate Accused of Escape

Authorities are searching for an inmate they say escaped from a work-release center.
The Alabama Department of Corrections said in a statement that officers are searching for 37-year-old Javarus Deon Ridgeway. They say he left the Atmore work release facility in Escambia County around 7:30 a.m. Monday.
Authorities are asking anyone with information on Ridgeway’s whereabouts to contact their local law enforcement agency or the Department Of Corrections.
The corrections agency said Ridgeway was being held on a robbery charge from Mobile County.
