Two Selma Men Arrested Following Shooting Death of Another Selma Man

On July 18, Vontrayvious Bennett was in the 900 Block of King Street when the vehicle he was occupying was shot into.
Vontrayvious Bennett was injured in the head area. He was taken to Vaughn Emergency Room by private owned vehicle. He was later transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham.
On July 23, Vontrayvious Bennett died as a result of his July 18 injuries.
Arrest warrants were issued on Joe Jackson of Selma Alabama for Capital Murder and two counts of discharging a firearm into a vehicle. Capital Murder is a Class A felony.
An arrest warrant was also issued on Jasper Cole of Selma Alabama for Hindering Prosecution 1st which is a Class A felony.
Hindering Prosecution is a charge used when a person hinder the apprehension, prosecution, conviction or punishment of another.
Jackson and Cole were processed at the Selma Police Department and later transported to the Dallas County Jail on a No Bond Status.  Local law enforcement were assisted by the US Marshals Service Mobile District.
