More Scattered Storms Sunday

It was another hot day today with many locations reaching the mid-90s.  Better rain coverage today provided some spots with some afternoon heat relief, and we can expect enhanced coverage of storms the next few days as well.  We should fall to 74 degrees tonight with clearing skies and southwesterly winds. We will continue to deal with the heat and humidity for the rest of the weekend and the week ahead. Temperatures will be held in check a bit from Sunday through Tuesday thanks to the better rain chances. Tomorrow, expect highs to once again reach the lower to mid 90s.  I expect Montgomery to reach 94 degrees tomorrow, with about a 40% chance for storms. The best rain chances look to be on Monday, with a 50% chance and a high of 93. Scattered afternoon storms look likely on Tuesday as well.  For Wednesday through the end of the week, afternoon thunderstorms will become more isolated as the southeastern ridge of high pressure begins to build back over us. With the lower rain chances, afternoon highs will slowly increase, and we should reach 96 by Thursday.  We will finish the week and go into next weekend with a typical summertime forecast- mid 90 degree days with isolated afternoon storms.
