From the West Alabama Newsroom– Authorities in Dallas County are investigating a shooting that has left a Beloit man critically injured.
Sheriff Harris Huffman says deputies found 50 year old Nathan Richard Parker with a gunshot wound to the head when they arrived on the scene.
Huffman says the shooting happened on the 100 block of Co. Rd. 947 at around 9:45 Wednesday night. He says it happened at the home of the suspected shooter — 42 year old paraplegic Steven Williams.
Huffman says Williams has not been arrested at this time — but the case remains under investigation.
“There was some type of altercation occurred,” he said. “That’s what our investigators are working on at this time.”
District attorney Michael Jackson says he will submit the findings of that investigation to a grand jury — which will determine whether any criminal charges will be filed in the shooting.
