Selma Man Charged with Shooting Mother’s Boyfriend

Selma, Ala.- Selma Police have arrested a suspect after a Monday shooting. Michael Blevins, 23, is charged with 1st-degree assault.
Police responded to an accident on Sam Mosely Drive just before 9:00. The 34-year-old victim sustained gunshot wounds to the chest and right arm and claimed that Blevins had shot him. He was airlifted to a Tuscaloosa hospital for treatment.
Blevins was arrested just before 11:00 AM today and has been transported to the Dallas County Jail with a bond of $100,000.00.
Detectives believe the motive for the shooting involved a physical altercation between the victim and his girlfriend, Blevins’s mother.
