Champions Challenge Kicks off Football Season
Fans come out to cheer on the Demopolis Tigers against Hillcrest- Tuscaloosa Thursday evening.
It’s football time once again, and the Champions Challenge at Cramton Bowl had plenty of fans ready to cheer on their team.
“I’m excited. I think we have a good team this year,” said L.B. Burbage.
Its even more special for the parents.
Tameka Johnson is mom to #10.
“This is his second year playing high school football. I love football so we are just really excited and proud of him,” said Johnson.
For her husband, it can be a little nerve racking…
“We need to play better than we’re playing now …We’re not tackling. Need to start tackling better than we tackle,” said Tommy Johnson.
Rooting on the Demopolis Tigers is a family affair, and for many it keeps they are quite busy throughout the season.
“Very energetic and very crazy at times because I also cheer for the middle school,” said middle schooler Abbie Hathcock.
And whatever the outcome, they are taking it all in stride.
“Get out there and play ball. If they don’t win, as long as they do their best,” said mom Taquisha James.
