Human Remains Found in Millbrook; May be Missing Man

Millbrook police are investigating human remains found in the city that they say could be related to a missing persons case.

The remains were found in a pond in the area of Valleybrook Drive and Cobbs Ford Road.

Investigators say the body appears to be that of an adult male, and may have been submerged until it was found Thursday.

It may be related to the case of 44-year-old Carl Cogdell, who was reported missing back in June.

Police say several factors – including the proximity of the body’s location to Cogdell’s residence – make them think it could be him.  But they won’t know until the Alabama Department of Forensics positively identifies the remains.

Police say say right now they don’t believe there was foul play, but are continuing to investigate.
