Man Found Guilty in Death Over DVDs

ATHENS, Ala. (AP) – An Alabama man has been found guilty of fatally stabbing his cousin over a pair of DVDs.

WAFF-TV reports that a Limestone County jury decided against lesser charges of manslaughter against 36-year-old Kenny Adams on Wednesday. Adams’ had previously asked that the charges be dismissed based on the stand your ground law.

A judge denied that motion.

Adams was charged in the Dec. 31, 2012 death of Yancey Metz Foster. Authorities have said Foster and Adams argued over a pair of DVDs that Adams was trying to retrieve. Adams has said he was protecting himself but prosecutors say Adams was the aggressor.
