Man Accused of Robbing, Assaulting Montgomery Woman Captured

Crimestoppers says a man accused of robbing and assaulting a Montgomery woman has been captured.

Police say 28-year-old Xavier McDowell robbed the 63-year-old victim at gun point, assaulted her, then burned her vehicle in a wooded area.  Authorities say he was arrested Friday.

McDowell was wanted by the Montgomery Police Department for Attempted Murder, Assault 1st Degree, Kidnapping 1st Degree, Robbery 1st Degree, Criminal Mischief 1st Degree, and Theft of Property 1st Degree.

Police also say they believe McDowell may not have acted alone.
