On Saturday, February 6, 2016 at approximately 7:55 p.m. the Papa Johns located on S. Memorial Drive in Prattville, Alabama was robbed. Witnesses advise that an unknown male dressed in a red hat, black shirt, blue jeans, and wearing dark shades approached the counter armed with a black semi-automatic handgun. He began pointing the handgun at the supervisor and demanding money.

After receiving money from the register, the suspect demanded that the supervisor open the safe. Due to security measures, the safe could not be opened by the supervisor. The suspect became extremely irritated, pointing the gun directly in the face of the supervisor.

After realizing that he would not be able to open the safe, he fled from the store taking a left toward the back parking lot.

Minutes after the suspect fled the business, Prattville Police responded to the 1000 block of Gipson Street. A resident advised that as he was traveling west bound in his Dodge pick-up truck on Gipson Street with his 4-year- old daughter, he and his daughter were shot at.

He went on to say that as he was driving, he observed a male running from the rear of Papa John’s Pizza get into a silver vehicle. The silver vehicle began traveling at a high rate of speed in reverse headed away from Papa Johns. The witness then described what he thought were the sound of fireworks and then feeling and hearing a loud ping hit the front of his vehicle.

After the vehicle left, he pulled into a friend’s drive way to check on his daughter and to evaluate his vehicle. As he exited his vehicle he observed that one gunshot round had struck his vehicle.
