Warrant: South Carolina Father Thought Children Would Kill Him

The South Carolina father accused of killing his five children and dumping their bodies in Alabama says he did it because he thought they would kill him.

That’s according to a Lexington County, South Carolina arrest warrant. In it, officials say Timothy Jones believed his children would chop him up and feed him to the dogs.

The warrant says Timothy Jones ordered his five children out of a vehicle at a Lexington WalMart. That was August 28th. Investigators think Jones killed the children at or near the family’s home soon after that. About a week later, he led investigators to their bodies in Wilcox County, wrapped in five separate garbage bags in a rural area near Camden. Investigators say he drove around with the decomposing bodies for days.

Mississippi authorities say they found blood, handwritten notes about killing, and children’s clothes in his car when they stopped him at a DUI checkpoint, soon after he dumped the bodies.

We’ve been waiting for results from the children’s autopsies.  A South Carolina coroner finished them last week. We know the children range between a year and eight years old, but officials say they won’t release the results for another two or three weeks.
