Pike County DHR Searching For New Director

There’s a major shakeup of leadership at Pike County’s Department of Human Resources.

Barry Spear with the Department of Human Resources confirms with Alabama News Network that Florence Mitchell is no longer the director of the Pike County DHR office.

She’s served as director for more than a decade.

According to a memo sent out by the state, Stephanie McKnight’s been assigned as interim director. She’s currently the director of Henry County’s DHR.

The state is not releasing the reason for the change up, but Spear did say Mitchell is still employed through state DHR.

McKnight will remain as interim until a new director is appointed by the Pike County DHR board.
