Sheriff’s Vehicle Strikes 5 Year Old Kid

A 5-year-old child is recovering after being struck by a Chambers County sheriff’s vehicle in Valley.

A sheriff’s report says the child ran out from between two parked cars near Milano’s Grille on Saturday and was struck by the vehicle.

The Opelika-Auburn News reports that the child’s injuries are not considered to be life-threatening. The child was taken to Lanier Medical Center for treatment.

The accident is being investigated by the Valley Police Department, which is in the process of taking witness statements.
