Tallassee Police Investigating Bank Robbery

Tallassee police say they are searching for a man who robbed the BB&T bank on Gilmer Avenue shortly before noon.

Police say the man had his head covered with some covering. He made jesters to the clerk as he removed his hands from his coat pockets and leaned over the counter.

Police say he removed an undisclosed amount of money from the drawer. He was last seen traveling west on Gilmer Avenue in a green car, possibly a Toyota Camry or a Lexus. Police say the car appeared to have a reddish dirt all over it.

The man is described as being white, between 5’6” to 5’8” with a stocky build. He was last seen wearing a dark colored hoody and camouflage pants or overalls, and dark gloves.
