Democrat Griffith Releases Tax Returns

Democratic gubernatorial candidate Parker Griffith has released his most recent tax returns. They show he and his wife had nearly $1.3 million in adjusted gross income in 2013, and their federal taxes totaled more than $352,000.

Republican incumbent Robert Bentley released his tax return in April. It showed that he and his wife had nearly $373,000 in adjusted gross income and their federal taxes totaled more than $81,000. Griffith said at the time that he would release his taxes later because he was filing for an extension.

The largest source of income for Griffith and his wife was $655,000 in distributions from Individual Retirement Accounts.

Griffith’s 2013 income was down from 2012, when he reported $2.3 million in adjusted gross income.

Griffith and Bentley meet in the election Nov. 4.
