Candlelight Vigil for Pregnancy and Infant Loss

According to studies, 90 thousand children each year in the U.S. die before their first birthday.
October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness month.
The River Region Community Action Team held the 4th annual candlelight vigil to remember those lives lost.
The event was held downtown Montgomery Thursday night at the RSA waterfall park.
Grieving parents released balloons and lit candles in memory of their loved one.
They say being able to come together with other parents who have experienced loss helps.
“Events like this makes us know we aren’t alone. When you lose a baby it can be very isolating and sad and lonely. Being at something like this is helpful in your grief journey,” said Julie Bebawy.
President Ronald Reagan first proclaimed October as National Pregnancy and Infant Loss
Awareness month in 1988.
