White Supremacist Convicted on Meth Charges

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) – Federal authorities say a man with ties to a white supremacist group faces more than 17 years in prison after being convicted on methamphetamine charges.
Prosecutors say 52-year-olld Mark Edward Elliott of Autauga County received the sentence after being convicted of conspiring to distribute drugs.
Elliott was arrested in March 2013.
The Montgomery Advertiser reports that federal records indicate Elliott was a leader in the Aryan Brotherhood.
The group is a prison gang with white supremacist beliefs. Elliott has tattoos of Swastikas and the words “White Power” on his body.
Authorities say Elliott was arrested during a sweep that included the arrest of 15 people in four counties.
Officials say the bust broke up part of a pipeline that was funneling meth into central Alabama from Atlanta.
