People Gather to Support “Step Out Walk to Diabetes”

People all across the river region descended on the Blount Cultural Park in an effort to combat diabetes.Â
About 400 people showed up to support “step out walk to diabetes,” which focuses on raising awareness and money to pay for diabetes research.Â
More than 400,000 people in Alabama have diabetes.There are millions of cases across the country.
Organizers say they want to educate as many people as possible.
This is the 15th year for the event. In that time, they’ve raised more than 175 million dollars.
