Greenville High School Hosts Annual Junior ROTC Drill Competition

Wednesday was a busy day at Greenville High School.
More than 400 high school Junior ROTC members gathered to face off in drill, physical fitness, and marksmen competitions. The students come from 14 different schools, from as far away as Mobile and Birmingham.
“It gets them all to practice their discipline and leadership abilities, and working together as a team. Teamwork,” said Sgt. Major James Seale, an instructor.
This is the 23rd year Greenville High School has hosted the drill competition. It’s one of the largest in the area.
Junior ROTC stands for “Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps.” There are more than 1,700 programs across the country.
