“A Living Hope” Opens Headquarters in Millbrook
Support continues to come in for Rhonda Adair and her family as the “A “Living Hope” headquarters opens its doors.
Rhonda’s sister, Robyn, says it’s a result of the whole community coming together.
“The carpet place donated the carpet, the pallet store with the furniture and people have donated the fabric for the curtains and the seamstress sewed everything…. And a guy came in and painted the whole place in 2 or 3 hours,” said Robyn Baker.
Within a few days, it was all up and running.
There is a prayer wall for Rhonda and T-shirts being sold to support the family.
Monday evening, Chappy’s Deli presented the family with a check for $3,653, all from the benefit they had last week.
“It’s kind of surreal. It is. But this is what the body of Christ and the community do for each other. We come together and meet physical needs and financial needs and that is what the community has done. They have just loved and supported Rhonda and her family in the best way,” said Paige Harrison, Rhonda’s sister-in-law.
Just 2 months ago, Rhonda Adair found out she had cancer.
In that time, she was induced to deliver her baby at 33 weeks.
And then began the fight of her life with chemo treatments. But they didn’t seem to work.
When doctors did all they could do for her here, she and her family flew out to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX where she has been for the past three weeks.
Robyn says what has happened since then is nothing short of miracles in her sisters life.
“The fact that we got a different diagnosis than we thought she originally had, the fact that she got stronger all of the sudden, she hadn’t received blood or anything like that the Friday that we got the diagnosis, and she was better,” said Baker.
And Rhonda still has a ways to go as she gears up for a second round of chemo.
Though they may not know the future, they are placing their faith in the One they say has carried them through.
“No matter how this ends, the Lord will get the glory. She loves Him and trusts Him,” said Baker.
