Footprints Ministry Holds First ‘Mom Prom’

It was a night to remember for sure as mom’s came out with their sons dressed to the nines… For a date on the dance floor.

A DJ played all their favorite songs as they danced the night away.

“I’m liking it a lot here. It’s great, the foods great. Everything is great, even the DJ. What is your favorite food here? My favorite food is the donut wall over there,” said 10 year old John Parker Wilson.

From donuts to hot dogs and nachos… It was any kids dream, as well as a dream come true for the moms.

“The Mom Prom idea came because I have two boys and I’ve always wanted to take them to a dance. There are lots of father daughter dances, but there’s never been a Mom Prom where we get to take our boys and dance with them. So we are just preparing them for when they want to take dates to prom and have a little early prom and doing Mom Prom,” said Founder of Footprint Ministries, Kim Wilson.

But behind all the those boutonnieres and picture perfect smiles, there was a deeper meaning for the Mom Prom.

All proceeds go to help Footprint Ministry and the families of the tiniest babies.

“When you are in the NICU, you can’t hold your baby, you can’t feed your baby. All these things are hooked up to tubes and wires. And a lot of times all you can do is pray for your baby. And that’s where we step in and encourage those families and pray with those families and point them to the Lord during such a difficult time,” said Wilson.

Families like Logan Aaron’s…

“Footprint Ministry was very important to us when we had Phinn at 29 weeks. We lived an hour and half away from the hospital where he was. They helped us out a lot,” said Aaron.

The Mom Prom was a special night for the moms and the sons… supporting a worthy cause and making memories to last a lifetime.
